An heir to the prominent Rothschild family has died after a house fire broke out at the Laurel Canyon house. William Rothschild's body was found in the $1 million home in Los Angeles on Friday. The Rothschilds are a prominent Jewish family who emigrated from Germany and had long been staples in the banking world most notably during the 18th and 19th centuries.

An elderly man whose body was discovered after his home burned Wednesday was said by his Laurel Canyon neighbors to have had a classic car collection.

According to reports, neighbors identified the body found at the Lookout Mountain Avenue property as belonging to William Rothschild.
