A Paris man accused of leading Arkansas State Police on a pursuit pleaded not guilty on Tuesday that ended in the passenger's death, according to court documents.

A Paris man accused of leading police on a high-speed pursuit Nov. 16 in Fort Smith that ended with a crash and the death of a passenger pleaded innocent Tuesday to charges including manslaughter.

The Fort Smith Police Department says it responded to a crash stemming from a police chase on Saturday night. The crash happened near Zero Street and 31st Street. Police say the chase started in an outside jurisdiction. The Fort Smith Police Department says it is helping to control traffic after the crash.

ASP identified 23-year-old Kevin Swafford of Paris as the driver of the vehicle. His passenger, 25-year-old Calvin Eubanks, died at the scene of the crash.
