On Sunday, the city of Philadelphia took to the streets to witness the Philadelphia Marathon — and the fans got to watch one of their own cross the finish line first. With 17,000 runners lined up in the shadow of the Art Museum,

William Loevner, 27, of Pittsburgh, won the Philadelphia Marathon men's race in 2:16:12 on Sunday. Mulgeta Birhanu Feyissa, of Washington, Alabama, was second in the 26.2-mile race in 2:16:38, and Rahal Bouchfar was third in 2:16:55,

Katie Florio was overwhelmed with emotion Sunday morning after crossing the finish line. The Center City resident became only the second local woman in more than three decades to win the Philadelphia Marathon.
