Grave in the village of Annyalla in Co Monaghan exhumed by team of experts searching for ‘disappeared’ victim Joe Lynskey

Joe Lynskey is one of four people 'disappeared' during The Troubles in Northern Ireland whose remains have yet to be located. The ICLVR has exhumed a grave at Annyalla Cemetery in Co Monaghan on the foot of "information concerning suspicious historic activity during the 1970s" there.

INVESTIGATORS ARE EXAMINING if remains found in a grave in County Monaghan are those of Joe Lynskey one of the disappeared murdered by the IRA during The Troubles. Lynskey was a former Cistercian monk from the Beechmount area of west Belfast.

Mr Lynskey, a former monk from Belfast who later joined the IRA, was abducted, murdered and secretly buried by the IRA in 1972
