A passenger has described the panic that ensued after people were told to evacuate Gatwick Airport due to a ‘security incident’.

London Gatwick Airport (LGW) has informed passengers that a large part of one of its terminals has been evacuated as a precautionary measure following a security incident, while the local police have said that a bomb squad was deployed to the terminal.

London’s Gatwick Airport said it is reopening its South Terminal after police resolved a security alert triggered when a suspicious item was found in a passenger’s luggage.
