After decimating neighborhoods in Altadena, the Eaton Fire has now become one of the deadliest in California history.​

At least 11 people have died in the blaze, east of downtown Los Angeles. Officials expect the number to rise as the police make their way through devastated neighborhoods.

Eaton Fire initially started 6:18 p.m. Jan. 7 in Los Angeles County. Since its discovery four days ago, it has burned 14,117 acres. A fire crew of 3,155 has been working on site and, as of Saturday evening, they managed to contain 15% of the fire. However, investigations into the cause are ongoing.

The deadly wildfires roaring through Los Angeles County entered a fourth day on Friday. At least 10 people have been killed, about 100,000 are under mandatory evacuation orders and more than 10,000 homes and other structures have been destroyed,

The Eaton Fire – one of a multitude of wildfires incinerating the Los Angeles area – is still burning with little containment on Saturday as the Santa Ana wind event fueling the blazes is set to continue into next week.
