Aéropostale's new marketing effort features professional soccer player Cavan Sullivan decked in a trending denim teen look, baggy jeans.

In May 2016, the teen chain filed a voluntary petition for Chapter 11 bankruptcy court protection. Four months later, Authentic stepped in to lead a consortium including Simon and Brookfield Properties to acquire Aéropostale for $243.3 million. Brookfield is no longer involved.

The Union in May signed Sullivan to the largest homegrown contract in MLS history, a four-year deal worth around $500,000 annually.
