Interesting landmark in the middle of a revolution square. It was nice to visit but quite underwhelming and far out. We visited as part of a driving tour for a few minutes which was more than enough. Full review by 568absm

What you would really enjoy is the elevator ride to the top of the monument where you get a 360 degree view of Havana. Docents are available. It may have cost 3 - 5 CUCs. It is definitely worth the investment. The views are amazing. We traveled many times from old Havana to where we stayed within walking distance of the monument for 7-8 CUCs. You can negotiate with the private cabs.
