WEBAug 26, 2023 · Darth_Vicious. ‘XScape’ is More cohesive than ‘Michael’. Both are listenable but ’Xscape’ has better overall production. It's Michael's best posthumous release, hands down. It will be difficult for the Estate to arrive with a better project than this.

I saw a post recently on r/unpopularopinion saying that it's a money grab and unethical for labels to release posthumous albums because the artist doesnt have creative control over the end result. As such, I got to thinking about Xscape and how far the final products got from the mid-2000 (ish) demoes that were leaked onto the internet.

WEBJun 20, 2021 · I can say I've become obsessed with his music. However, I kinda like song songs from the album Michael and it feels dirty to say because of the history. The songs I do like from the album are not the 3 bad ones but songs like best of joy Hollywood tonight and much too soon. Same goes for Xscape except we only listen to the orginal versions.

WEBJan 30, 2022 · Xscape and Michael are not authentic MJ albums, he had no say in them and it was and is difficult for people to listen to an album by an artist who has passed on. I just know that a lot of people, myself included, have trouble listening to the album because if MJ wanted these songs released, he would’ve dropped them years ago.

WEBSep 21, 2023 · Xscape - Original by a mile, but the remix is really enjoyable as well. That being said, I don't hate any of the remixes on Xscape album. I used to be ambivalent towards their decision to put only the remixes on the standard edition back when it was released, but now I'm seeing it more favorably.

WEBAug 25, 2022 · XScape as an album, derided as it may be for the "modern" sound, has remained sounding like a new record to today, where Chicago has become Michael's "first hit of the 2020s" nearly a decade after it's release. All of Michael's records remain fresh. Except Michael. I enjoy Michael, but it says right on the tin, it's a compilation album.
